pedophiles

I am writing this to vent and to bring some awareness to the enormity of this problem.
I have recently given birth to a beautiful baby boy. Being a new mom brings both joy and fear. I myself have been victimized as a child and the thought of some sexual deviant getting his hands on my precious innocent baby both terrorizes and infuriates me. I have been doing a lot of research on this subject and have read many forum posts as well where occasionally a pedophile or supporter will put in their two cents. You would be shocked at how many people out there feel that pedophilia should be "normalized" as a sexual orientation. They lump themselves in with homosexuals/bisexuals even though these do not leave victims in their path. They want to be accepted and to be allowed to find "love and pleasure" because they feel it is their right. What about the rights of the children? I can't tell you how it makes my blood boil. Now I do agree that perhaps they have no control over their desires, they may be victims of their own mind but the cost of allowing them to believe that their passions are "ok" is too great.

The american government is considering passing a "hate crime" law against the persicution of pedophiles, the same law that protects gays and lesbians. I see this as just another way to lump these monsters in with law abiding, loving people who do not victimize anyone. Don't get me wrong, I feel just as disgusted with zoophilia (people who are sexually attracted to animals) and I feel that they too should be locked away for the rest of their lives. I'm not here to bash pedo's only, any deviant behaviour that produces victims should be squashed and fast.

I could spend hours here discussing this but let me just state some facts.

95% of victims know there abuser
60% of all sexual assaults are against children
30-40% of all sexual assaults are caused by family members
Non-parental relatives – 35%
Friends and Peers – 15%
Stepfathers – 13%
Biological Fathers – 9%
Other Acquaintances – 9%
Boyfriend/Girlfriend of Biological Parent – 5%
Biological Mother – 5%

I also want to say that pedophiles who feel that they do not victimize children because they do not physicly touch them, they only look at child pornography are just as responsible for the victimization of children as the creators of this slimy smutt. If there was no one viewing/purchasing this material then there would be no need for creating it.
